Oxford Advanced Surfaces Group Plc was formed by the reverse take over of Kanyon Plc by Oxford Advanced Surfaces Limited.

Founded  in June 2006 by Dr. Mark Moloney and Dr. Jon-Paul Griffiths, Oxford Advanced Surfaces is a spin out from the Chemistry department at the University of Oxford, one of the largest chemistry research laboratories in the world.  The company specialises in the development of advanced materials and technology solutions  leveraging surface modification chemistry developed by the founders.

Kanyon Plc was established in 2006 and admitted to AIM in October 2006 with the objective of growing and developing business in renewable energies and solar energy.  Kanyon acquired Solar Labs Limited in April 2007.

The company develops and commercialises advanced materials and technology solutions across a range of markets including:

  • Electronics (PCB's, plastic electronics, electromechanical devices and flat displays);
  • Industrial specialties (specialty fibres, textiles, laminates and composites);
  • Life sciences/health care markets (including sterile surfaces, separation media and microarrays, biomedical materials) and
  • Low Carbon Technologies (photovoltaics, advanced lighting, fuel cells)

We work in partnership with our customers to develop bespoke solutions to their problems or to develop new opportunities. Typically we lead with a short Initial Assessment Project and follow with a Development Programme tailored to the specific needs of our customer.
